Selecting Compute Infrastructure

EarthAI Notebooks allow you to operate on many different types of compute hardware.  This means that if you need more compute power, you can select a different infrastructure which may have a larger server, a spark cluster, or GPU instances.

Once you log in, you will be presented with the EarthAI Notebook Launch Options screen which could have more options depending the details of your account:

Select the radio button for the infrastructure that best matches your needs and press the Launch EarthAI button.  Depending on the type of infrastructure, loading the instance can take anywhere from several seconds to 10 minutes.  For more expensive compute infrastructure, we do not keep hot instances open so you have to wait for them to be spun up from scratch.  

Changing Compute Infrastructure

If you are already logged in and need to change the infrastructure you are using, you need to shut down your server and reload the notebook.  To do this:

Select "Shut Down" from the File menu.

This will prompt you with a dialog where you should select "Stop EarthAI Notebook Server"

Now the server has been shut down.  You can press the "Start My Server" to start a new server.

This will require verification (we are working on streamlining this... sorry).  Press Launch Server on the next screen:

This will take you back to the EarthAI Notebook Launch Options screen.
